Just In: Miranda Bennett, Back On Atlantic Ave!

Posted: Nov 21 2014

We've just received some chic new pieces by Miranda Bennett, who once upon a time was our neighbor on Atlantic Ave. Miranda Bennett was one-half of the creative duo behind Plume, a lovely boutique just a few doors away. The pair closed their store two years ago, opting to focus their energies on being creators rather than business-owners. Miranda, a now Austin-based designer, creates elevated go-to pieces for everyday life. The pieces are intended to be seasonless: her collections are released as "Editions", in which new and unique designs form a continuous dialogue with prior Editions. Each Edition plays with fabrication, proportion, cut and colorway, building on previously released styles. Colors and patterns are now primarily achieved through a small batch process utilizing botanically based, natural dyes.

"More than ever, the collection is a tribute to women across the wide variety of fields we inhabit, offering seasonless, quality apparel and textiles in premium fabrics that can journey with a woman from day to evening, location to location. Our design ethos is based on the principle of thoughtful simplicity, always striving to create silhouettes that marry elegance and ease." The collection is cut, sewn and dyed on the company premises in Austin, TX.

Kaight is proud to feature several pieces in the ombre cutch palette (above). The raw silk fabic in this color reads as suede and looks incredibly rich paired with black. Available in-store.
