I recently wanted to fill a small wall space in my living room. I didn't want anything too big and bulky and, ideally, I wanted it it to be a plant. I found these really cool air plant cradles. The simple cradle design adds a sculptural element without overwhelming the plant. I love the texture the terracotta clay offers. They make a great display alone or grouped together. A great display of them in a cluster can be found at Empellon Cucina in the East Village.
Air Plant cradles are available in terracotta and unglazed natural white earthenware clay. They are made in Denver by ceramist Michael McDowell. Available at KAIGHT.
