#13 Use Reusable Containers

Posted: Apr 13 2016

Bottled water is wasteful, pure and simple. Valleywater.org estimates that bottles used to package water take over 1,000 years to bio-degrade and if incinerated, they produce toxic fumes. It is estimated that over 80% of all single-use water bottles used in the U.S. simply become "litter." In the United States alone, 60 million plastic bottles are used and thrown out every single day.
According to the SunTimes, It takes over 1.5 million barrels of oil to meet the demand of U.S. water bottle manufacturing.
Investing in reusable bottles is a small, single purchase that can have an incredible impact. S'well bottles can keep a beverage hot for 12 hours and cold for 24 hours. And they don't condensate, which means you can toss one ice cold in your gym or yoga bag without worrying it will dampen anything it comes in contact with.
