At Home Spa Tutorial With Alder NY!

How are you? Last week, a very dear friend of mine forwarded me a TED Connects talk with writer Elizabeth Gilbert, "It's Ok To Feel Overwhelmed. Here's What To Do Next." You're a savvy bunch so maybe you've listened to it already; if not, I highly recommend it. Personally, I found it incredibly helpful in reminding me to take it easy on myself. Gilbert reminds us that we all need to allow ourselves some self compassion during this time, by showing ourselves "mercy and compassion for how we're feeling right now." She also emphasizes that living in a constant state of anxiety prohibits us from being "good stewards to ourselves and others." If we're not strong - physically, mentally, emotionally - and taking care of ourselves, we can't begin to take care of those around us.

Self-care comes in many forms. I've been meditating twice a day, enjoying a nightly bath (I'm apparently late to the Age of Bathfluence), and trying to take advantage of the warmer weather to take my dog on longer walks than usual. And I thought I was taking good care of my skin: drinking more water than usual and wearing very little makeup (what's the point?), but something is not right. So, I asked Nina Zilka (above), founder of Alder New York, for some help. Nina will be taking over our IG Stories (@kaightshop) on Saturday at 12 PM ET to share her skincare routine for an at-home spa day. She'll also be here to answer any skincare questions you might have in our DMs.I hope you'll join us.
