Designer Spotlight: Valerie Dumaine

Posted: Sep 05 2016

I recently took a trip to Montreal and fell in love with the city -- and its fashion. Among the designers I discovered was Valerie Dumaine, The Canadian designer has been committed to creating collections that are environmentally conscious for more than a decade by using natural and eco-friendly fabrics when possible. Their fabrics are made in a GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified facility and are Azo free. Garments are produced locally in Montreal, Canada.
Additionally, every collection features two items with specially designed animal print. Valerie partners with an animal shelter each year and 10% of sales are donated to the designated shelter. This year, Valerie has partnered with the bird shelter Le Nichoir. The Quebec-based non-profit provides proper care and treatment for injured or orphaned wild birds and releases them back into their natural habitat. The Isla Dress (pictured below) is features the season's special print.
